Planning and Financing with specialisation in Health Economics - Deadline for applications: 30 April 2014
In September 2014, the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest will launch a new Masters Programme (MSc) in Health Policy, Planning and Financing with specialisation in Health Economics.
Over two years, students will understand and analyse key issues and problems of future health systems faced bymiddle-income countries. The Masters Programme is based on three main components : basic courses, professional core material and specialisation in health economics. The latter provides multi-disciplinary expertise and a problem-oriented approach. The students will be asked to write a thesis-seminar and will enjoy the benefits from an internship. The key concept of the MSc is evidence-based policymaking. Students are prepared to work in both the private and public sectors.
The Masters Programme is taught in English by high-level teachers. Indeed, the faculty members are internationally well-known and have considerable experience, both in public multinational organisations and private companies. The MSc also draws on members of the International Advisory Board who contribute to the education of the Masters Programme. This guarantees the transferability of the teaching materials to different health care systems and health technologies.
According to Éva Orosz who is Head of Department of Health Policy and Health Economics, this MSc is “a unique initiative in central and eastern Europe”.
