Stemming from the Better Life Initiative, a newly-launched OECD report How’s Life? shows the economic crisis’ impact on people’s well-being, affecting not only their jobs and incomes but also, more importantly, their life satisfaction, housing conditions, trust in governments and working environments.
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s report finds that these indicators declined the most in countries most affected by the crisis, and that the full impact may still be hidden and to only to become visible in a long run (such as health outcomes). Indeed, as the report calls for, investment in people’s well-being and we wish to add - their socio-economic determinants of health - holds a still largely untapped potential of maintained and strengthened resilience of population of tomorrow.
