The latest (65th) World Health Assembly gathered on 26 May adopted 21 resolutions on a broad range of health issues including: early marriages and pregnancies, the International Health Regulations, mass gatherings, the Millennium Development Goals, non communicable diseases, pandemic influenza preparedness, intensification of the global polio eradication initiative, research and development, nutrition, the social determinants of health and substandard/spurious/falsely labelled/falsified/counterfeit medical products. Also, an unanimous agreement on WHO Reform was taken.
The first day of the assembly saw a strong focus on universal health-care coverage, whilst on the second day a resolution on Non-communicable diseases was approved together with a global target of achieving 25% decrease in mortality rates from chronic diseases by 2025.

Millennium Development Goals: Member States endorsed the report on the progress and achievements of the health-related Millennium Development Goals and health goals after 2015.

Social determinants of health: The Health Assembly endorsed the Rio Political Declaration and its recommendations. It approved measures to support the five priority actions recommended in the declaration to address social determinants of health.
Progress reports: The delegates also received progress reports in six areas: strengthening of health systems; disease eradication, prevention and control; reproductive health; food safety initiatives; climate change and health.
