The WHO/Europe’s publication entitled "Protecting health in Europe from climate change" urges European countries to strengthen their health system to respond to health threats due to climate change.
It is generally accepted by the scientific community that climate change affects health through changing weather patterns and altering ecosystems. These aspects are crucial determinants of availability and quality of necessary resources such as water, food and air that shape livelihoods.

Injuries in the European Union- Statistics Summary 2003-2005]
On 3 April 2008, Eurosafe issued a new report on injury prevention.
The report "Injuries in the European Union - Statistics Summary 2003 -2005" launched at the beginning of April shows that injury is one of the biggest threats facing Europe today.

The Royal College of Physicians issued a new publication entitled "Osteoarthritis" that provides guidelines for care and management of osteoarthritis.

A scientific publication entitled "Responding to the challenge of cancer in Europe" was issued to provide policy recommendations for public authorities and stakeholders concerned with the prevention, management and palliation of cancer.
With support from the Slovenian Presidency, a book entitled "Responding to the challenge of cancer in Europe" was issued by the umbrella Fighting Against Cancer Today (FACT) representing internationally-recognised EU public health institutes.

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) will hold a seminar on "Global Substantive Health Issues" on 5 and 6 June 2008. The seminar will take place at the University of Warwick.

A report examining the extent of occupational differences by gender and the impacts on the quality of working life for men and women was published in December 2007.

At their meeting in Funchal (Portugal) held in November 2007 the Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA)and the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) adopted a two-year work programme to enact a European Risk Management Strategy (ERMS) on medicines.
The European Risk Management Strategy aims to conduct pharmacovigilance through measures allowing the early detection, assessment, minimisation and communication of risks of medicines in Europe during their life cycle.
