Unveiling the Danish Presidency health priorities

From the 1st January to the 30 June 2012, Denmark will hold the Presidency of the Council of the EU, with four overarching priorities: a responsible Europe; a dynamic Europe; A green Europe; a safe Europe. Tobacco industry attempts to undermine Framework Convention on Tobacco using the German government

Researchers at the Tobacco Control Research Group have shown in a paper published in the British Medical Journal how the Tobacco Industry attempted to use the German government to undermine the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). New report on Diet, Physical Activity and Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) Prevention in Europe

The European Heart Network - an EPHA member - publishes a report on Diet, Physical Activity and Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) Prevention in Europe, which represents the most up to date review of the evidence on the relationship between CVDs and nutrition and physical activity. Health and social affairs ministers focus on children’s health

At its 3131st EPSCO Council meeting, ministers adopted two sets of Conclusions directly related to children’s health aimed at reducing inequalities in the health status of children in Europe due to chronic respiratory diseases, as well as communication disorders. Health ministers ’could have been stronger’ on health equity

On 1-2 December 2011, the Council adopted Conclusions entitled "Closing health gaps within the EU through concerted action to promote healthy lifestyle behaviours".
