EFSA report on the toxicity of bisphenol A (BPA) finds no new evidence strong enough to revise BPA tolerable daily intake levels.


In its report on the toxicity of bisphenor A (BPA) at low doses, European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concluded "no new evidence significant enough to revise the current Tolerable Daily Intake (TDI) for BPA". In addition to that, EFSA did also not find evidence of neurobehavioural toxicity of BPA convincing enough to advice against the substance. European Parliament hearing on the EU towards the UN summit on the MDGs

Council conclusions on EU food security policy framework and humanitarian food assistance

WHO adopts resolution on monitoring the achievement of health-related Millennium Development Goals.

Time to get real: AfGH Policy Report launched – "2010 Reality Check - Time is running out to meet the health MDGs"


On World Health Day (7 April 2010), a new report by Action for Global Health was launched simultaneously in six places across the European Union. The report "2010 Reality Check: Time is Running Out to Meet the Health Millennium Development Goals" urges European leaders to focus on concrete issues and take up actions that can break the cycle of poverty and ill health in developing countries. EPHA position on the future Global Health policies of the EU


The European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) submitted its response to the on-line consultation of the European Commission (EC) on Global Health at the beginning of December 2009. The response elaborates on the questions outlined in the annex to an "issues paper" on global health produced by the EC. This article presents an executive summary of EPHA submitted response. Fourth Global Health Policy Forum


The Global Health Policy Forum, co-organised by Directorate-Generals Development, SANCO and Research, took place for the fourth time in Brussels on 14 January 2010.
