Economic crisis: Fuel poverty impacts on health inequalities

Child Injury prevention takes on new TACTICS to get the job done


Every year, unintentional injuries kill nearly 42 000 children and young people under the age of 20 in the WHO European Region. WHO Decade of Action for Road Safety - saving lives and money


Road accidents and injuries are biggest cause of mortality and disability among the youngest and most productive part of our societies. Road safety is a key element of sustainable transport policies creating healthier and wealthier societies. Council of Europe adopts Convention on Violence against Women


The Council of Europe has adopted a Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence and Domestic Violence Against Women. Now national governments need to ratify the Convention by 11 May 2011. At their 1111th meeting on 6 April 2011, the Ministers’ Deputies adopted the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence and Domestic Violence against Women. European Parliament calls for an EU directive to combat violence against women


The European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for an EU directive to combat gender-based violence. According to the proposal, rape and other forms of sexual violence against women should be classified as crimes in all EU Member States, which would lead to automatic prosecution.
