On June 14 and 15, EPHA spoke at the Gender and Health through Life, conference supported by the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU. EPHA’s contribution focused on Gender and Health dimension of health promotion and disease prevention from a life course and inequalities perspectives.
To mark the Danish Presidency’s EU agenda of gender, equality and healthy ageing, European Men’s Health Forum - EPHA’s member - teamed up with European Patients’ Forum, European Cancer Patients Coalition, European Cancer Organisation, and the Danish Men’s Health Society in organising the International Conference on Gender and Health through Life.
EPHA spoke in a panel session dedicated to Gender in Prevention, Health Promotion and Patient- Centred Chronic Disease Management, in a particular expert competency on issues related to health promotion and disease prevention. On the second day, EPHA participated in an expert panel discussion aimed at discussing the need for gendered health policies, collecting and refining specific recommendations. The two-days long conference intended to reach the Council conclusions of the this month, just at the end of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
