Objective of the Conference:

This will be a unique opportunity to:

- Present positions and recommendations on how to best prevent, treat and enhance research on Chronic Diseases at European level,
- Engage in the debate and share ideas with like-minded organizations, peers, EU policy makers and the media, and
- Make policy proposals to support a comprehensive approach of Chronic Diseases.

- Expected audience: all working on health/chronic diseases related issues, professionals from the areas of environment, city planning, housing, gender and ageing dossiers, food and agriculture, social determinants, physical activity and all concerned by “health in all policies”.

Background

On 7 December 2010 the council published its conclusions on "Innovative approaches for chronic diseases in public health and healthcare systems."

The European Commission recently launched a consultation process on chronic diseases. The deadline for responses: 15 April 2012.
