The conclusions of a seminar “Moving the ethical hiring of health workers forward” jointly organised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Action for Global Health, and the Andalusian School of Public Health are now available.
The Seminar was to examine the various challenges EU Member States face implementing the Code of Practice and of facing the crisis in human resources for Health.
The main objective of this workshop was to foster exchange and reflection on the implementation of the WHO Code, thereby stimulating relationships between both institutions and countries.
The broad participation by different Ministeries and the engagement of officials from Finland, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom as well as the WHO was complemented by the variety of differeing relevant agencies that contributed from Health Ministries and Health Agencies in Europe to foreign affairs or development ministeries and technical cooperation agencies.
The goal of initiating an international inter-agency debate was therefore successful.
