Further information on the public consultation is available below.
In order to clarify the role of tobacco additives as an enhancer of the addictiveness and attractiveness of tobacco products, the European Commission has launched a consultation process.
The Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) had been requested by the European Commission to produce a pre-consultation opinion providing scientific advice on the role of additives in tobacco products. Based on that document, a broader consultation is now open to all interested stakeholders.
To participate in the public consultation please click here. The SCENIHR pre-consultation opinion is available here.
The deadline for contributions is 5 September 2010.
