Co-organised by EPHA member, the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP), the conference will present and disseminate outcomes and policy recommendations aimed at protecting children and young people from the effects of smoking and tobacco.

The project, co-ordinated by Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT) and co-funded by the European Commission, focused on peer-to-peer interventions and local community engagement across schools, community centres and other localised settings. It was supported by a number of European associated partners under the framework of the Public Health Programme 2008-2013.

The conference will present:
- The findings of peer-to-peer interventions in the UK, France, Latvia, Italy and Romania
- Policy recommendations for European, national, regional and local decision-makers
- A cross-cultural toolkit for use by healthcare professionals, teachers, peer mentors and families.

The event will be held at the European Committee of the Regions, room JDE51, Rue Belliard 99-101, Brussels, between 09h30 and 13h00 on Monday 20 September 2010. A networking lunch will be provided at 13h30.

The conference announcement can be found below and full details of the "Working with Communities" project can be found here.
