2010 is the Year of Health and Well-being in the Liverpool area of the North West of England.
To promote the initiative, health actors in the community are promoting the 5 ways to well-being, which are proven to make a real difference to the way you feel. Building these actions into a daily routine could add up to 7.5 years to the life span of participants as well as contributing to emotional well being - and feeling good is an important part of being healthy!
The five ways to well-being are:
Connect
Be active
Take notice
Keep learning
Give
Throughout 2010, the Liverpool health community will be asking organisations across the North West region to support the Year of Health and Well-being by pledging to take action linked to the 5 ways to well-being. More information is available at www.2010healthandwellbeing.org.uk.
Spring 2010 will see the launch of the Workplace Well-being Charter, designed to help and guide organisations of all types and sizes to improve the health and well-being of employees. Further details will be added to the 2010 website in April.
