The Bulgarian Association for Patients’ Rights Defense (BAZP) is a new EPHA member.
The Bulgarian Association for Patients’ Defence (BAZP) activates the participation of members and citizens in the Bulgarian Healthcare System Reform.
BAZP’s aim is to popularize patients’ rights and to eliminate (as far as possible) medical malpractices while performing Medical Services and patients’ treatment. It aims to achieve its goals through:
work with the specialized departments of the Bulgarian Healthcare System;
analysis of operative legislation and operation base in respect to the Health Insurance;
searching for accordance between European and world BEST practices and the Bulgarian legislation;
information exchange with other governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs);
participating in the decision making of the Bulgarian Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund regarding patients’ rights and searching for solutions of their problems.

Preparation and distribution of relevant information which patients need to know are also some of the activities of BAZP.
