The new ENVI Committee

At the first European Parliament plenary session in July 2009, Jo Leinen was elected Chair of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee (ENVI). 64 MEPs joined the ENVI Committee.


On 16 July 2009, Mr. Jo Leinen was elected Chair of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee (ENVI) in the European Parliament.

Jo Leinen is a German member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament and is the former chair of the Constitutional Affairs Committee.
