A six-month internship is available at the following EPHA member organisations:
European Association of Cancer Leagues (ECL)
The ECL Internship, will be based in Brussels, Belgium.
ECL is a non-profit association and an alliance of national and regional cancer leagues. The internship will be related to the tobacco control.
The main function will be to manage the campaign on smoked free policy for Belgium.
Person Specification
The successful applicant will need to:
Be fluent in French and Dutch. An ability to read and understand English would be an added value
Have excellent organizational skills
Be computer literate
Be interested in tobacco control, especially smoke free policies
Main responsibilities
The person will liaise with all interested stakeholders at national level in order to facilitate the development of a coalition of interest organization.
The person will help with the development of a national strategy to favor the adoption of a comprehensive smoke free legislation in Belgium.
Support the development of a draft national strategy for a smoke free Belgium
Develop support with other stakeholders amongst other public health organization in Belgium
Establish contact with members of the Belgian Parliament and the Federal health ministry
Support the drafting of press release and briefings on smoke free legislation
Evaluate the possibilities of a media campaign
Organize a high profile event to discuss the issues with relevant stakeholders at national level

Remuneration Approximately 690 EURO net per month.
The internship will start in October 2009 and applicants should be eligable to work in the EU.
