The Civil Society Contact Group of the Social Platform brings together the four large NGO families - environment, social, human rights, development - and the ETUC, representing millions of people throughout Europe via their membership.
Jointly they aim to ensure that the views and interests of NGOs are heard within the process of shaping Europe’s future framework.
Please find below the agenda for the final event to mark the end of the Convention, to be held in Brussels on 17 June: the Civil Society Contact Group wants to give an opportunity to NGOs and Unions at the European and national level to assess the outcome of the Convention and its draft constitution before the summit in Thessaloniki.
Jointly, we can decide on a forceful and active way forward during the IGC process.
The Civil Society Contact Group of the Social Platform is seeking to invite high-level representatives of the Praesidium, the Convention, and the Greek and Italian Presidencies to respond to the Benchmarking of the draft constitution by Civil Society.
The afternoon session will be internal to the Europe wide members of the Civil Society Contact Group’s components.
The Social Platform will pay for Platform members to attend the event.
