On 22 October 2008, EPHA attended a briefing to MEPs hosted by Phillip Bushill-Matthews MEP and Dorette Corbey MEP at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The aim of the briefing was to give MEPs the opportunity to hear the consumer perspective on the Commission’s proposals on food information. Guest speakers from major European retailers, consumer groups and not-for-profit organisations outlined the measures required to ensure that consumers are provided with the information they need to be able to make healthier choices, and detailed their experience using colour-coded nutrition labelling schemes.
