European Commission Publishes: European Research on Environment and Health Funded by the Sixth Framework Programme

The European Commission’s Directorate General for research has published a report entitled: European Research on Environment and Health Funded by the Sixth Framework Programme.

The European Union’s FP6 funding programme has come to a close and this booklet brings a short overview of the FP6 projects.


Many of the FP6 Projects are still ongoing and are being funded by four Directorates (Health, Biotechnologies/Agriculture/Food, Industrial Technologies, and Environment) in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research. This has allowed the concerted efforts and funding of research to tackle a multitude of issues related to environment and health.

The First results became available during the course of 2007. We hope that the reader will find in this overview some answers to important questions raised by the general public, scientific community or policy-makers on environment-health linkages.
