ANME (the Association of Natural Medicine in Europe) is a non governmental organisation (NGO) which represents the interests of traditional naturopathy and natural medicine (CAM) in the fields of health, nutrition, consumer protection and research at European and national level.
We represent European, national and local specialized groups, practitioners organisations and associations as well as patient groups and biopharmaceutical producers, training institutes and committed individuals
1. to conserve and promote CAM in Europe 2. to grant free access to CAM therapies, remedies and drugs for all EU consumers 3. to foster cooperation between initiatives and lobby groups 4. to promote further trainings at EU level for therapists and consumers 5. to foster research in the area of naturopathy 6. to achieve a European-wide recognition of CAM as a form of health protection for consumers and patients
We have established an EU-wide network in order to inform parliamentarians, pharmaceutical industries and all organisations interested in CAM in a competent manner. ANME places experts in hearings, staff working groups and committees. ANME members join conferences and events throughout Germany and Europe in order to attract new members and establish new contacts. Furthermore, ANME supports CAM-research that deals, among other things, with discovering effective mechanisms of CAM without being subject to a one-sighted doctrine or an economic precept.
Every two years ANME organises a European Symposium called: “Natural Medicine in Europe – Quo Vadis?” and invites European speakers from all health-related political areas that concern CAM. The next EU Symposium will be on 1 November 2008. The audience is composed of experts and representatives of the public. The symposium’s objective is to exchange information and to promote cross-border discussions.
