Health Priorities of the French Presidency, July 2008

The French Presidency of the EU will run from 1 July 2008 until 31 December 2008.

On Health issues, the French Presidency has made some priorities:

1. Health Security: Anti-microbial resistance and mandate for the ECDC, Health Security Committee

2. Mental Health: Alzheimer

3. Tobacco: preparation of the EU towards the Conference of Parties, FCTC in November 2008.

4. Health Strategy

6. Euromed (Barcelona Process): The Euro-Mediterranean Partnership

7. Information on Food to Consumers: Labelling

8. Safer Medicines: Counterfeit Medicines and Information to Patients on Medicines (October 2008)

9-10 October 2008: 2nd Conference Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, Making Europe a safer place (Paris)

17-21 November 2008: Conference of Parties, FCTC, Durban, South Africa

18 November 2008: European Antibiotic Awareness Day (ECDC)

15-16 December 2008: EPSCO-Council
