The Quick Guide to EU Funds presents selected programmes as a response to the demand for practical and comprehensive information in an easily accessible format. The guide presents the new Community priorities, programmes and other funding opportunities available since 1 January 2007.
The guide provides information regarding the different types of funding and possibilities.

This programme aims to contribute to the protection of health, safety and the economic and legal interests of European citizens.
The objectives of the programme are to:
Ensure a high level of consumer protection (through
better representation of consumer interests)
Ensure the effective application of consumer policy
rules (through enforcement, cooperation, information,
redress and education)

Europe for Citizens
Europe for Citizens encourages cooperation between citizens and aims to bridge the gap between citizens and the European Union.
The objectives of the programme are to:
Give citizens the opportunity to interact and participate in constructing an ever closer Europe
Strengthen European identity based on common values
Enhance mutual understanding and tolerance between European citizens while contributing to inter cultural dialogue

In this summary, only The Drugs Prevention and Information programme will be described. The Drugs Prevention and Information programme aims to reduce the demand for and supply of drugs, ensuring that drug trafficking in the EU is brought to a halt.

Facilitate the exchange of information
Create mutual understanding
Encourage civil society to design and implement effective prevention and information plans

The PROGRESS programme is complementary to the European Social Fund (ESF) as it works to fight poverty, unemployment, combat discrimination, promote gender equality and integrate disabled people into society.
The objectives of the programme are to:

Public Health Programme
The Public Health programme strives to complement Member States’ activities and efforts in the field of health. It works to protect and promote human health and improve public health.
The objectives of the programme are to:
Improve citizens’ health security
Promote health for prosperity and solidarity
Generate and disseminate health knowledge
