EPHA working meetings
On 14 May 2008, EPHA and European Heart Network (EHN) attended an informal meeting with BEUC to discuss and exchange vision among Nutrition labelling. The conclusions from this meeting can be found at the EPHA Members only section.
On 20 May 2008, EPHA had an informal meeting with the Prevention Institute from California to discuss common priorities and approaches on Public Health.
On 27 May 2008, EPHA participated in a platform meeting of European NGOs working towards a declaration on injury prevention and safety promotion.
EPHA Working Groups
On 7 May 2008, the EPHA Food and Nutrition Working Group came together to discuss further actions on labelling. The minutes of the meeting are available on the Members Only Section of the EPHA Website.
In the afternoon, 7 May 2008, the EPHA members met each other at the Policy Coordination Meeting at the EPHA office. The minutes of the meeting are posted at the EPHA website, Members only section.
EPHA, your ’eyes and ears’ in Brussels
On 23 April 2008 EPHA attended the third anniversary of the EU platform for action on diet, physical activity and health. The minutes of the meeting are available here.
On 28 April 2008 EPHA attended a consultation meeting with non-governmental health organisations, organised by Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection following the adoption of the Second Report on the Application of the Tobacco products Directive in November 2007. The intention of the meeting was to have an open discussion and get comments on the Report and possible further actions outlined in it. Click here to see the meeting report.
E-health without frontiers, 5-8 May 2008, was the sixth in a series of high-level e-Health conferences that have taken place since 2003 to highlight achievements and discuss the next steps to encourage efficient use of information and telecommunication solutions in healthcare. The PGEU meeting on Adherence to Medicines, held in the Parliament on 13 May, was attended by EPHA and details on the event can be found here.
On 15 May 2008, EPHA attended a conference on "How to foster civil dialogue in Europe?" organised by the European think tank Pour la Solidarité. Click here to see the conference report.

EPHA health advocacy
On 7 May 2008 EPHA participated on the second preparatory meeting to disuss the organisation of the 7th Round Table on poverty and social exclusion that will take place on 15 and 16 October 2008. Click here to see the conference report.
On 16 May 2008, EPHA took part in the working group (Sherpa-Sub group) to prepare the High Level Group on Agro-Food Industry Competiveness. EPHA’s goal is to ensure the outcomes of this High Level Group relfect public health interests.
