Aims and objectives

The projects has three overriding goals:
- Measuring the prevalence and incidence of date rape among female college students in the partner countries, notably: Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Lithuania and Latvia.
- Enabling the exchange information regarding legislation, policies and good practices among partner countries.
- Evaluating the attitudes, behaviours and level of awareness among beneficiaries of training sessions and target groups.
- Combating date rape by disseminating information in all EU Member States and establishing partnerships and networks between EU Member States.
- Promoting awareness and make policy recommendations for prevention of date rape and support to victims.

The main beneficiaries of the project will be young female college students (aged 18-28) living in urban areas and the target groups will be governmental authorities, NGOs, policy-makers and the police.

Activities

Five Country Research Reports will be carried out through quantitative and qualitative research in order to provide scientific evidence. Several publications will be issued to support the project such as a Training manual including tools and good practices to support victims and implementing measures for the prevention of date rape and a Resource Book incorporating all activities undertaken within the project. Two one-day Training Workshops in each partner country will be organised to divulge information and raise awareness on the problematic and a final international conference will seal the end of the project.
