"Healthy Environments for Children" is the title of this year’s World Health Day, which will take place on April 7.

EPHA will also be launching its booklet, "A Healthier Future for Europe’s Children" which includes comments from WHO Europe’s Regional Director, Marc Danzon, and Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstrom.

EPHA aims to widely disseminate this booklet on April 7 to national and European press and other contacts, and generate as much media interest as possible.

EPHA will send out a press release and postcard for action, and would very much appreciate EPHA’s Members help in:

- Disseminating this information to theirown member organisations and contacts, and

- Informing EPHA if their organisation, or member organisation, will be planning anything on April 2003 so that EPHA can highlight it in its press release.

EPHA is working with its members, DG Environment and WHO’s Network of Health Promoting Schools to coordinate an event in Norway at which Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstrom could participate on World Health Day.

If you have contacts in Norway or would like to inform your member organisations of developments on this day, please send an email to Genon Jensen.

World Health Day 2004 will be dedicated to "Safe Roads", creating an opportunity to draw the general public’s attention to the growing but preventable problem of road traffic injuries.
