The Future Challenges 2009-2014 launched by DG SANCO in November 2007 followed the publication of the EU Health Strategy for 2008-2013. Since a general overview of both publications did not demonstrate a consistent approach, EPHA response focused on those evident discrepancies.
According to the DG SANCO’s future challenges, 4 drivers and 13 critical factors were highlighted to identify key aspects of change for the period 2009-2014. In line with this framework, EPHA response was set to reply to each critical factor in order to draw attention to the limited focus on citizens undertaken in the paper.
