On 11 January 2008, the EPHA secretariat met the new Brussels based association manager for ASPHER(Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region). The EPHA secretariat and ASPHER talked about future challenges concerning public health in the EU.

Meetings and events attended by EPHA

On 9 January 2008, Daniela Negri attended the first formal meeting of the Parliament Interest Group on Carers held in the European Parliament. The report is available in the Members Only section.

On 11 January 2008, Jessica Imbert attended a conference on "Addressing health inequalities in the regions of Europe", organised by the European Regional and Local Health Authorities (EUREGHA). A summary of the conference can be found at EPHA’s website

Caroline Bollars, participated in the STACS project management meeting in Paris, Monday 14 January 2008. The partners of the STACS consortium discussed the STACS website.

On 17 January 2008, Caroline Bollars attended a Round Table on the Future of EU Health Services, organised by the Royal College of Physicians UK. More information on the future of EU Health Services can be found at EPHA’s website.

On 18 January 2008, Frazer Goodwin attended a meeting in the United Nations representation in Brussels on aid effectiveness by the UNFPA.

On 18 January 2008, Frazer Goodwin met the Slovenian Presidency team dealing with development issues with the Brussels partner in Action for Global Health. A report of the meeting is available here.

Frazer Goodwin attended a lunch briefing on 23 January 2008 in the European Parliament on initiatives to provide malaria treatment in developing countries.
