The seminar was an interactive event on the issue of medicinal information in Europe, thereby relaunching the debate on Direct-To-Consumer-Advertising (DTCA).

On this occasion, HAI invited different speakers such as representatives of the European Consumers’ Organisation (BEUC), Association Internationale de la Mutualité (AIM), Healthcare Professionals Organisations, the Pharmaceutical Industry, Drug Regulators, MEPs, Patient Organisations, the Independent Society Drug Bulletins, and European Commission.

The speakers tried to emphasize their organisations approach on DTCA. Most of them mentioned the Joint Statement on Information to Patients, which was coordinated and endorsed by EPHA.

The Statement proposed a forward vision towards an EU Health Information Strategy with concrete and constructive suggestions, whilst reaffirming the commitment of several organisations who wish to have an active role in the debate on information to patients.
