Lara Garrido-Herrero joined EPHA in January 2003 and has been an enthusiastic and committed part of the organisation. Since September 2005, she has served as the Secretary-General of EPHA and been instrumental in enhancing EPHA’s strength and reputation. A passionate advocate for public health, Lara brought the sunshine of Spain to the team. She was a familiar figure in Brussels on her bicycle as she raised the profile of health NGOs throughout the EU quarter.

The Executive Committee would like to extend their warm thanks to Lara for her valuable contribution to EPHA. Over the past four years, we have watched her grow in stature and she became a confident and skilled leader for the EPHA team. Now Lara is leaving Belgium to go to Panama, where we have every confidence that she will make a big splash and possibly end up managing the canal itself !

Lara, we appreciate your hard work for EPHA and we wish you all the best your new challenges where your talents will find new outlets.

Stay in touch with the EPHA team and we hope to hear about your achievements in the future.

Florence Berteletti-Kemp, Vice-President

And a brand new layout

Of all the projects we’ve had together, it is safe to say that the new layout for epha’s website, albeit fun and important, somehow slept too low on our TODO list. We however did manage to launch the new layout on time, for her last executive committee. I hope you still like it, as that’s going to be one of the visible result of your time at epha.

Did I secure an invitation to visit you in Panama ? ;)

I’d like to wish you the best of luck for you new adventures, ... but you don’t need luck!

Lara Garrido-Herrero said goodbye to EPHA

Hello and goodbye. May you have good memories of your stint in the EPHA and may you find more opportunities to continue serving people - probably this time, throughout the world. I’m with Project C.A.R.E.S. and in case you have a chance to visit Philippines, please call on me. It would be a great opportunity to make acquaintance with a person whose life is being dedicated to people-service. Our website is www.projectcares.tk You are most welcome to extend your expertise to our humble organization. Take care!

Lara Garrido-Herrero said goodbye to EPHA

Hi Lara,

We’ve known each other so long that I remember you arriving at EPHA (oh dear that means we are both getting old...). I always enjoyed working with you when I was at PGEU. There are so many things to remember, e.g. do you remember the health claims event in the EP when the room was a complete mess 5 minutes before the MEPs were supposed to arrive and all the EP staff had disappeared because it was later than 17.30? But we managed in the end didn’t we?

You never wavered in your motivation and enthusiasm for public health in Europe and hopefully you’ll still carry this in your heart in Panama.

Stay in touch!

un abrazo

Rebecca
