The Open Days are organised by the EU Committee of Regions and the European Commission (EC) DG Regional Policy in partnership with a record 212 regions and cities from 33 countries.
The Open Days bring together different stakeholders such as EU decision makers, politicians, policy experts and civil society organisations.
The Open Days have several workshops and EPHA is involved in the workshop on "Improving public health capacity in the EU regions: possibilities for engagement."
The focus of this workshop is to explore and assess the existing capacity of the public health systems and share information on how to improve such capacities.
The aim would be to encourage effective public health management as well as identify and disseminate good examples of partnerships between state, local and public health agencies. EPHA will present "Opportunities for input of regions at EU level: advocating for healthy public policy."
The venue of this workshop is Committee of the Regions, Rue Belliard 101 on 10 October 2007 from 14:30 till 16:30
