Despite the title of the website, it does not address the costs of health care, but provides information about the European Health Insurance Card, proving answers to questions such as: who is covered?, what is covered?, which countries are involved?, and what should you do if you lose your Card?.

The most useful information is a database containing a list of health care providers in each country, their location and contact details.

The section "the card in your country" provides national links to information about how to get the European Health Insurance Card. Links are available for most of the EU Member States.

The website is quite practical and user-friendly, although only available in English, French and German.

Quite strinkingly, this has been launched by DG Employment Social Affairs and Equal opportunities when health services and patients mobility are primarily DG Health and Consumer Protection responsibility. They have indeed recently concluded a public consultation on the matter, to which EPHA responded.
