The 2007 edition was particularly focused on Africa and the need for Europe to deliver more, better and faster aid in view of the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Within the Development Days, the Governance Forum (15-17 November), addressed issues of good governance, democracy and respect for human rights as key pillars of EU development cooperation and a cornerstone of the EU Strategy for Africa.

The Governance Forum followed on from the European Consensus on Development, agreed by the Commission, EU Member States and the European Parliament on 20th December 2005.

Health NGOs present at the Development Days

EPHA was represented at the event alongside Marie Stopes International and Stop Aids Alliance. All three organisations shared a stand on behalf of the new European Global Health Network which has been set up in order to advocate for greater support to be given to the three health related MDGs. A variety of publications were displayed at the stand including information about EPHA as well as postcards listing the 15 organisations that make up the network.

Other EPHA members, such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation European Region, also participated in the event.
