While discussions on health care costs and reimbursement structures are going on, while regulations on pharmaceuticals are being released, some of them threatening the test certificate of natural drugs, CAM is neglected in the debate on health policy.

But if health systems are to remain affordable in all states, the citizen must be made to be more responsible for his health.

CAM can make a start and advocate for a position for Nature Healing in Health Care and for the occupation of non-medical Nature Healers in the whole of Europe.

The patients who visit a CAM therapist, act firstly on their own responsibilty and secondly ease the burden on the sickness insurance companies. So CAM has an important role to play in the EU Health care systems.

The symposium aims to provide a channel of exchange between NGOs, consumer organisations and policy-makers. It is an opportunity to hear speakers on research in natural medicine, prospects of EU-health policy, the future of natural pharmaceuticals in the EU and other topics.

Among the speakers, Lara Garrido Herrero - EPHA Secretary General - presents a view on advocating for better health a EU level. 2 national perspectives (UK and Italy) will add-value to the agenda.
