The objective of the Symposium is to outline the pharmacist’s role in a competitive social Europe.
They discuss the following issues:
the main characteristics of and a comparison between the USA and European Health care models;
the future for health care in the EU - reflections from the representatives of DG Health and Consumer Protection and DG Competition within the European Commission;
the way the pharmacy sector can adapt to market demands while achieving public health objectives - panel discussion having community pharmacists, wholesalers, doctors, industry and representatives of patient groups;
the way the pharmacist profession is adapting to changes in Portugal.
