The aim of the seminar is to discuss key issues and challenges in the development of comprehensive, quality community-based services for people with disabilities in Europe. It is also an opportunity for those involved in the promotion, development or provision of community-based services to share experiences and models of good practice, identify existing obstacles and develop recommendations for the future strategy on de-institutionalisation.

Mental Health Europe will moderate the workshop on ‘disabled people as a driving force towards de-institutionalisation’

The seminar intends to bring together key stakeholders in these areas, including self-advocates and users/survivors of psychiatry, representatives of disability organisations and de-institutionalisation initiatives, representatives of service providers, academic institutions and the European Commission.
