UPDATED with the results of the World Health Assembly. In May 2006, the World Health Assembly adopted a resolution on "Global Framework on Essential Health Research and Development", which aims to address the priority health needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and other diseases, especially those in poor countries, and to develop improved safe and affordable health products such as HIV vaccines.
In order to support the upcoming 2006 World Health Assembly ‘Kenyan-Brazil resolution’ on research and development in Health, a preparatory meeting for NGOs is organised on the 13 April 2006 in Brussels so as to organise common advocacy actions.
Organised by HAI (Health Action International), EATG (European AIDS Treatment Group), CPtech (Consumer Project on Technology), DNDi (Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative), and MSF Access Campaign, the seminar aims to highlight the need for EU support of the above-mentioned resolution and offer an opportunity to debate the lack of R&D in Health in Europen and abroad.
