The Manifesto is co-signed by Europa Donna - The European Breast Cancer Coalition, The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) and the European Society of Mastology (EUSOMA) who hosted the event.
Seven goals serve as a basis:
Improving the number and quality of European screening programmes
Supporting breast cancer research
Rethinking the breast cancer staging system
Defining metastatic breast cancer guidelines
Increasing the number of breast care nurses
Expanding the Breast Unit accreditation process
Giving recognition to the essential role played by charities in independent breast cancer research
The Conference also comprised lectures, symposia, workshops, and debates which brought together scientists, clinicians, nurses and advocates. It aimed to share knowledge and experiences, and exchange ideas.
The background papers and presentations are available on the Conference website.
