Francesco Longu participated on behalf of EPHA to the EMEA/CHMP Working Group with Patients’ & Consumers’ Organisations held in London on 15 February 2006.

Eimear O’Loughlin participated in the June meetings of EMEA/CHMP Working Group. The June 1-2 reports of both EPHA and EMEA/CHMP Working Group are attached below, as well as all background documents.

The June meetings were preceded by an informal seminar on Risk Communication to Patients, organised by Health Action International and hosted by Which? Consumer Association on 31 May 2006 in London. The report of this meeting is attached below.

Lara participate in the September and December meetings of the EMEA/CHMP. The main role of EPHA in this meetings is to maintain an information flow between the activities of the EMEA and the activities of the health NGOs, and to act as a watch dog to ensure that the EMEA works in a transparent manner.

In order to ensure continuity of participation in the meetings of the EMEA working group with patient and consumer organisations, EPHA will be represented by Lara Garrido-Herrero, Secretary General of EPHA, and the alternate member will be Teresa Alves, from Health Action International, an EPHA member working in the area of pharmaceutical products.
