The aim of the call
This call for proposals has been launched to identify organisations that are interested in networking and prepared to carry out activities that will bring together a wide range of other local, national or international organisations. The overall goal of this call is to develop partnerships and build up coalitions of NGOs that are active on public health issues.
Through this call for projects, EPHA can provide financial support from its EU funded project as well as expert speakers or trainers on networking, EU policy making and advocacy for public health issues at EU level .
Types of activities that can be supported:
Conferences, seminars, networking meetings
Training workshops and capacity-building activities
Publications (manuals, leaflets, guidebooks)
Priority themes are public health and health promotion, health and patients rights, civil society participation, EU institutions and decision-making processes, partnership and advocacy, communication.
The activities must take place in the following countries: Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, Malta, Cyprus.
Who can apply?
This call for projects is open to non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations that are based in any of the 25 EU Member States, accession countries or EFTA countries.
Partnership?
The projects can be implemented by one organisation or in partnership with other NGOs.
Timing?
The projects must take place between March 2006 and December 2006.
Funding?
The projects will be based on the principle of co-funding. EPHA will administer the financial aspects of the project including making all of the local payments. Applicants must be able to provide 50 % of the total costs of the project, payable to EPHA through bank transfer or cash. The remaining 50 % of project costs will be covered by EPHA. The maximum budget per project is 10,000 Euros, excluding staff costs, representing a financial commitment by the applicants to spending 5,000 Euros of their own funds. Please note that money from other EU grants cannot be used as co-financing for this call for projects.
The types of expenses that are eligible include travel and accommodation, venue and catering costs, translation, photocopying or printing.
Selection criteria
The projects will evaluated on the following criteria:
Administrative eligibility - submitted by the deadline, completed application, eligible organisation and type of activities.
Relevance - Meeting the aim and objectives of this call for projects.
Cost effectiveness - a good balance between costs and the potential impact of the project.
Deadline and submission
