The aim of the event was to build up the capacity of NGOs in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Romania on networking and participation in decision-making processes in EU level.

The event covered the following topics:

- The European Public Health Alliance - the advocacy network on public health in EU.

- The EU directive on services.

- Global developments and the role of NGOs.

Interactive methods were used and the participants had the opportunity to share their experiences and to establish mutual cooperation between the organisations.

At the end of the conference the participants agreed that this process should continue and asked for a follow up capacity building event focusing on advocacy and legislative proceses in the EU instituions.
