The event, which is held every two years, focused this time on promoting equality of access to breast screening and breast care for all women across Europe. EUROPA DONNA President Stella Kyriakides stated as one of their objectives the implementation of the European Parliament Resolution on Breast Cancer.
Keynote speaker, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, Markos Kyprianou expressed the importance of working together and stressed the Commission’s commitment to furthering breast cancer screening programmes.
While specialists provided delegates with an insight into the developments of surgical trends in the field, Karin Jöns, MEP and Head of EUROPA DONNA Germany said that there was still a lot of work to be done.
Other speakers put forward complementary medicine as benefical to breast cancer patients.
