A new staff member joined the team. Murielle Chiltz is the new EPHA administrator. A French national, Murielle has experience of working in the European Commission and a network of local and regional authorities.
The EPHA Annual General Assembly (AGA) will be held in Brussels on Thursday 23 June 2005 (all day) and Friday 24 June 2005 (half day). Thursday 23 June will include a business meeting (election of Executive Committee members for the mandate 2005-2007, approval of new members and signing annual accounts) and a policy development section. The half day session on Friday 24 June will be a training event designed to build capacity and improve skills of member organisations.

The Intergroup on Health and Consumer issues is closer to its formation. EPHA and BEUC have received many positive replies from Members of the European Parliament who support it.
EPHA also participated in two meetings with the Greens/EFA in the European Parliament. The Greens/EFA are preparing a communication campaign directed to the wider public on information on health and nutrition claims on the same lines as their existing Eat-better campaign.
Presentations
Tamsin Rose ran a workshop on media skills as part of a two day advocacy training for NGOS organised by EPHA Environment Network.
She also undertook a fact funding trip to Latvia to identify opportunities to set up a civil society national platform on health. She met with an NGO alliance on reproductive health, the Ministry of Health, the disability platform SUSTENTO, the Civic Alliance and the local Save the Children office.
Events that EPHA attended
Francesco Longu participated at the second meeting of the Start-up Editorial Board (SEB) of the Public Health Portal in Luxembourg, DG SANCO, on 28 February. The Portal is expected to be launched in summer 2005. Please feel free to contact him for more information.
Tamsin Rose and Lara Garrido-Herrero attended the preparatory meeting of the "Platform on Diet, Physical Exercise and Health" organised by DG SANCO.
Lara Garrido-Herrero participated in two events about the new Constitutional Treaty organised by the Social Platform and the Act4europe Campaign.
Tamsin Rose and Francesco Longu participated in the European Health Policy Forum working group meeting on Services and health. The resulting paper on health and services will be presented at the Forum meeting on 11 March 2005.
Anna Jassem and Lara Garrido-Attended the Public Health Programme Information Day organised by DG Sanco in Luxemburg.
