To mark the International Day of People with Disabilities, and help to ensure that people with disabilities are given the opportunity to contribute to the social and economic prosperity, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work issued on December 2004 a fact sheet on the workplace safety and health of people with disabilities.
The fact sheet underlines the rights of people with disabilities to both a fair and safe workplace. It provides user-friendly guidance on how a practical application of anti-discrimination legislation and health and safety legislation can benefit both the worker and the employer. The aim is to stimulate workplaces to take positive actions, and that this will lead to better jobs for workers with disabilities.
