From scattered data to structured knowledge: towards an integrated European chemicals information system
On 25 October 2004, the European Environmental Agency will organise a workshop aiming to discuss data monitoring and availability of information on concentrations, exposures and effects of chemicals in different natural and urban environments.
More specifically, the purpose of the discussion will be to define which kind of data is needed to provide useful information for a safe management of chemicals substances, as well as to set up a road map towards an integrated European chemicals information system.

International Conference on Childhood Exposure to Environmental Chemicals
On 7 and 8 December 2004, the Health Protection Agency will be hosting the 7th International Conference on Chemical Hazards in Cardiff (United Kingdom). The central theme of this year’s conference will be ¨Childhood Exposure to Environmental Chemicals: Implications for Public Health¨.
